TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-- Police in Tallahassee are expected to make an announcement today about an arrest warrant issued for a Florida state senator.

The warrant was issued Wednesday for Sen. Mandy Dawson. Sources indicate it has to do with prescription drug fraud.

Dawson is a Fort Lauderdale Democrat who was elected to the state senate in 1998 and previously served in the house from 1992 to 1998. She is running for re-election on Nov. 5.

So far, there has been no comment from the lawmaker.
